Become an apprentice
An apprenticeship is a work-based learning programme, which enables you to earn whilst you learn new skills, knowledge and behaviours.
Apprenticeships are supported and funded by the National Apprenticeship Service, Education & Skills Funding Agency and the European Social Fund.
Apprenticeship standards are made up of several core elements.
These can include:
- Initial assessment - This is to ascertain how much you know before the apprenticeship begins.
- On-programme training skills, knowledge and behaviours - So that you can learn the content for your final exam.
- Functional skills in Maths and English - If you don't posess a GCSE grade in either subject.
- Gateway - Your preparation for End Point Assessment (EPA).
- End Point Assessment (EPA) - Your final exam.
