Our policies

We have a number of policies to ensure that we are conducting business in a professional, ethical and transparent manner. These include:

  • Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults: AfC embraces its responsibility to develop, implement and monitor policies and procedures to safeguard the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, working collaboratively with the safeguarding children partnerships.

  • Safer recruitment policy: We operate a robust recruitment policy, including conducting eligibility to work in the UK checks when recruiting new staff, in order to help safeguard against human trafficking or individuals who might be being forced to work against their will.

  • Code of conduct: All employees must behave honestly and with integrity and follow AfCs policies and procedures. Our code of conduct makes it clear that staff must not behave in a manner either inside or outside working hours which could damage AfCs reputation. All employees are expected to operate  within the law during their employment at all times.

  • Whistleblowing policy: We aim to ensure that all employees know that they can raise concerns about how colleagues are being treated, or practices within our business or supply chain, without fear of repercussions.

  • Commissioning framework: We undertake appropriate due diligence as part of all procurement and commissioning activity. This due diligence provides assurance that any suppliers undertaking work on behalf of AfC have robust policies and procedures in place to ensure that modern slavery or human trafficking is not taking place within their business or supply chain.
