World Suicide Prevention Day - 10 September 2024
This World Suicide Prevention Day, we want to show everyone that talking about difficult feelings, including suicidal thoughts, doesn’t have to be scary.
The theme for this year's World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD) is ‘Changing the Narrative on Suicide’ with an associated call to action of ‘Start the Conversation’.
We're all at different stages in our understanding and awareness of suicide prevention, but no matter where we stand, we can learn to save a life by taking training:
Training with Zero Suicide Alliance:
Through Zero Suicide Alliance's free, 20-minute suicide awareness training, you will gain skills and confidence to help someone who may be considering suicide. Take the full training.
Zero Suicide Alliance also offers suicide awareness training to support veterans, university students, people with autism and taxi drivers. All the courses can be accessed on their website.

By talking more openly about suicide, we can give people the chance to express how they feel and get the support they need. It could even save a life.
