Way2Work achieves Ofsted 'Good' result

We are proud to announce that our apprenticeship provider, Way2Work, has been awarded a ‘Good’ rating by Ofsted in their most recent inspection.

The Way2Work service has been successfully supporting young people to find apprenticeship vacancies and achieve their apprenticeship qualifications for 40 years, all with local employers who value and encourage them to achieve their full potential.

The service now offers seven different apprenticeship programmes between levels 2 and 5, with the largest subject areas being in business administration, teaching assistant and leadership and management qualifications.

We were pleased to read in the report that apprentices enjoy attending lessons because of the good support and teaching they receive. Our experienced assessors/trainers provide good levels of knowledge and insight that help apprentices to develop up-to-date knowledge and understanding that they can immediately apply in their workplace.

Other areas that received positive feedback were:

  • Our structure of teaching the curriculum: “Assessors/trainers structure their teaching of the curriculum so that apprentices and learners quickly develop their knowledge.”

  • Our forms of assessment: “Checking apprentices’ understanding of what they are taught, and how they apply this in their jobs, providing helpful feedback to apprentices so that they can improve their work. Assessors/trainers encourage apprentices to develop their wider reading and research skills as part of the feedback provided.”

  • Our support to develop apprentices' knowledge and use of English and Mathematics: “Assessors/trainers teach topics using workplace scenarios to develop apprentices’ english and mathematical skills.”

  • Careers advice and guidance: “Apprentices benefit from effective careers advice and guidance from their assessors/trainers and employers. Many aspire to achieve promotion at work or take higher-level courses.”
