Fostering agency is ‘good’ says Ofsted
Achieving for Children’s Independent Fostering Agency has been judged ‘good’ by Ofsted following a recent inspection.
We are pleased to have been awarded the ‘good’ rating. Staff, foster carers and children were all heavily involved in preparing for and participating in the inspection.
The report highlights the outcomes achieved for children and young people, stating that the ‘service provides high-quality foster care placements. The outcomes for children
and young people are very positive. They develop secure attachments with their foster families and have a very strong sense of belonging.’
Ofsted noted that ‘Children and young people receive personalised care that meets their needs’ and ‘the agency pays good attention to issues of equality and diversity.’ It also observed that ‘Children and young people feel listened to.’ The report highlighted that ‘preparation of older young people for their transition to adulthood is good.’
Matthew Edwards, Associate Director for Provider Services, said: ‘We are pleased that Ofsted has given this independent verification of the quality of our service. This is testament to the hard work and commitment of our foster carers and the staff that support them.
‘However, we have more work to do to make sure we are tailoring our care and support to improve outcomes for every child being fostered. We also need to make sure as part of our recruitment plans that we have enough foster carers in the local area to meet demand.’
Achieving for Children Fostering provides a wide range of short and long term foster placements, including adolescents, sibling groups, parent and child placements and children with complex needs.
